Start a session

From a source checkout:
Sign up at console.soket.ai and create an API key to use Soket in Loop. If no provider key is set, the TUI opens a login picker: Soket, OpenRouter, OpenAI, or Custom. Choose Soket and paste that key. You can run /login again later to add another provider, or set the key before launch:
Loop does not auto-select a model. Use /model (or Ctrl+L) after connecting, or start with both flags:
--provider alone is an error. --model accepts provider/id or a bare id that only one connected provider serves. Config lives under ~/.loop/agent/.

Your first interaction

The agent uses read and bash to look around, then answers in the transcript.

Key interactions

Ask about code

Request a change

On a new session, write, edit, and bash pause for approval. File edits can open a diff in Cursor or VS Code.

Run commands through the agent

Mention a file

Local shell

Prefix with ! to run a command in the terminal without sending it to the model:

Headless mode

--print still writes the session, so you can resume it. See Headless mode.

Essential shortcuts

Essential slash commands

Commands that exist only in a feature build:

Desktop

Sessions sidebar, streaming chat, diff review, tool approval, and a PTY dock (`Ctrl+“). Same config as the CLI.

Config dirs

AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md load from the working directory. /reload picks up file changes.
